5 million vehicles for unrelated defects

Already feeling heat from a controversial ignition switch defect on older compacts, General Motors announced today that it will recall another 1.5 million vehicles oakley sale for unrelated defects.

Included are nearly 1.2 million units of GM popular large crossovers the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse, according to Automotive News.

The company has been severely criticized for its slow response to the ignition switch problem, drawing pressure and scrutiny from Congress and oth oakley sale er federal officials.

The new recalls affect these vehicles:

1.18 million 2008 13 model Buick Enclaves, 2008 13 GMC Enclaves, 2009 13 Chevrolet Travers oakley sale es and 2008 10 Saturn Outlooks. The wiring harness for the seat mounted side airbags can get pinched and could result in non deployment of the bags.

303,000 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full size vans for model years 2009 14. GM said material in their instrument panels meant to protect unbelted passengers needs to be “reworked,” Automotive News said.
